WOODSTOCK – No injuries have been reported at a house fire at 341 Tanager Drive in Woodstock.

The fire started about 2 p.m. today.

A young, unidentified woman who was in the house when the fire broke out escaped, as did family pets, including a cat and a turtle, Woodstock Fire Chief Ralph Webster said.

Fire officials believe the fire started in a second floor bedroom. There was smoke and water damage throughout the home. Damage was estimated at $50,000 to $75,000.

Woodstock Police and Fire responded, as did firefighters from Huntley, Marengo, McHenry Township, Richmond Township, Hebron and Wonder Lake. Woodstock Public Works officials also were on the scene.

When crews arrived, there was smoke showing as well as flames shooting from a second-floor window. Firefighters had the fire out within 10 minutes of arriving.
