Focused Party sweeps
FOX LAKE – Focused Party candidates prevailed over the United Party and independent candidates who ran for office in Fox Lake.
United Party candidate and incumbent Cindy Irwin was defeated by Edward Bender for Fox Lake president, 487 to 1,325 votes, according to unofficial vote totals.
Independent Alberta Meyer received 181 votes. Village Clerk Samantha Weeks was re-elected with 1,328 votes over Bernice Konwent.
For Fox Lake trustee, Kevin Burt, 1,113 votes, Valerie Griseta, 1,064 votes, and Jon Mumford, 903 votes, were elected to vacant positions.
