Tight race puts new trustee on board

WONDER LAKE – The Wonder Lake Village Board likely will have a fresh face, according to unofficial results.

John Lynd captured the most votes in a race for three seats with only 18 votes separating him and incumbent John Naatz, who was not re-elected. Lynd had 233 votes, incumbent Lester Anderson had 230, and incumbent Fred Learman had 226. Naatz had 215 votes.

“The anti-Wonder Lake people were very organized,” Naatz said. The incumbents supported plans to dredge the village’s lake.
