Blagojevich brother wants to use campaign money

CHICAGO – Ousted Gov. Rod Blagojevich's brother Robert has asked a federal judge to free up $2.3 million in campaign funds to pay defense attorneys.
Robert Blagojevich's lawyers wrote in court papers filed Monday that he is "entitled to have his attorneys fees paid from the campaign fund which he chairs."
The campaign fund was effectively frozen after the former governor was charged in a federal indictment with racketeering and fraud. Rod Blagojevich needs the money to pay his lawyers even more than his wealthy brother from Nashville, Tenn., who is charged with two counts of fraud.
Judge James B. Zagel may decide as early as Friday whether to free up the money.
