Ackerman may join Blagojevich team

CHICAGO (AP) – Ousted Gov. Rod Blagojevich might add veteran criminal defense attorney Allan A. Ackerman to his team.
Ackerman said Monday that he had been “asked to participate” in Blagojevich’s defense against federal criminal corruption charges.
But Ackerman said he hadn’t decided whether to join the legal team, and might not for a week to 10 days.
The attorney has represented a number of organized crime figures among many other clients.
The former governor has pleaded not guilty to charges that include allegations he tried to auction off President Obama’s former U.S. Senate seat.
