CARY – Village President Tom Kierna is seeking nominees to fill two vacant seats on the Cary Board of Trustees.
Kierna will nominate two candidates for consideration to the board on June 2 or June 16. Kierna, who previously served as a trustee, will appoint a Cary resident to fill his spot on the board. The village president also will have to appoint someone to fill the vacancy left by former Trustee Steve Adams, who died April 23 from a heart attack. Adams was re-elected to another four-year term but died before taking his seat.
Kierna will be accepting applications for prospective trustees through May 27. Applications are available in the main lobby at Cary Village Hall, 655 Village Hall Drive. Applicants should attach their résumé to the application form, Village Administrator Cameron Davis said.
“I look forward to reviewing and considering all the applications submitted,” Kierna said. “Cary currently has an outstanding Village Board, and it will be my goal to recommend two individuals who will work productively and enthusiastically with our existing elected officials and staff.”
Kierna was elected village president in April. He said filling the positions was one of his most important immediate tasks. Kierna said he would consider all applicants.
The two trustees appointed by Kierna will serve until April 30, 2011.
