Frasier gets $7K in pact with Lakemoor

LAKEMOOR – As long as he doesn’t try to sue or speak ill of the village, former Lakemoor police Chief Wallace Frasier will walk away with $7,168.

That’s according to a separation agreement signed by Frasier and Village President Todd Weihofen when Frasier was fired, almost two weeks ago.

Village documents obtained through a Freedom of Information request revealed that the parting gift is just less than 10 percent of Frasier’s annual salary at the time of his firing. Frasier was earning $74,547.20, documents show.

The former top cop’s salary became the topic of conversation at a village meeting last week, when trustees were discussing how much to pay Frasier’s successor.

“We should look at what that salary is ... it could be lower,” Trustee Bob Koehl said.

The agreement was signed May 14, the day Weihofen was sworn in as village president and then led the board in firing Frasier.

All but two trustees, Koehl and Ralph Brindise, voted to fire Frasier.

The agreement states that Frasier will be paid in a lump sum, and the village will give a “neutral job reference,” consisting only of the dates of employment, position held and salary. Frasier is not allowed to talk in detail about his time in the village, which he reiterated when called for comment after his firing.

The village has 90 days to fill Frasier’s position. In the meantime, Sgt. Rick Iverson is serving as interim chief. According to village documents, Iverson’s annual salary is $60,881.60.

The statement didn’t include any reasons for Frasier’s firing, and village officials said former Lakemoor President Virginia Povidas did not conduct any performance reviews of Frasier.
