Richmond Police investigate armed robbery

RICHMOND – Police are looking for two male subjects who robbed a Richmond gas station at gunpoint Saturday night.

Richmond Police officer John Meredith said today that there has been a spate of similar robberies at gas stations in Antioch, Lake Villa, Fox Lake, Lindenhurst and elsewhere in southeastern Wisconsin and northeastern Illinois during the past few months. The robberies may be related, he said.

In the Richmond incident, two men entered the Richmond Petroleum Shell Station at 10007 Main St. at 11:25 p.m. Saturday.

They displayed handguns of unknown caliber and demanded money. The clerk complied, handing them the money from the register, Meredith said.

Both of the suspects were dressed in dark clothing, and obscured their faces with bandanas. They were between 5 feet 8 and 5 feet 10 inches tall, Meredith said. They fled in an unknown direction of travel. Anyone having information is urged to contact the Richmond Police Department at 815-678-6143.
