GREEN OAKS – A former suburban Chicago mayor has been sentenced to 30 days in prison for possession of child pornography.
Seventy-one-year-old Tom Adams was accused of having child pornography on his home computer and distributing it via e-mail.
In February, Adams pleaded guilty to 16 counts of child pornography possession. A judge Monday said Adams also must pay a $10,000 fine, undergo psychological treatment and do 200 hours of community service. He also must register as a sex offender.
Adams, the former mayor of Green Oaks, also was the former Lake County GOP chairman.
