BARRINGTON


FOURTH OF JULY CELEBRATION, 11 a.m. to 11:30 p.m. Saturday, North Train Commuter Lot at Spring Street, Barrington. Family activities, live music. Fireworks best viewed from the lawns of Barrington High School at Lake Cook and Hart roads. CRYSTAL LAKE

INDEPENDENCE DAY PARADE, 1 p.m. Sunday, starting at the Municipal Building, 100 W. Woodstock St., and continuing down Dole Avenue to Lakeside Festival grounds at Lakeside Legacy Arts Park, 401 Country Club Road. Fireworks to begin at dusk over the lake. Information: 815-459-2020, ext. 4730.


ELGIN

FOURTH OF JULY PARADE, 9 a.m. Saturday, starting at Douglas and Slade avenues, ending at Highland and Douglas, Elgin. Bring Back the Neighborhood theme. Information: 847-488-1456.


FOX LAKE

CELEBRATE FOX LAKE, 10 a.m. Saturday, parade starts at Grant Community High School, 285 E. Grand Ave. Festivities follow at Millennium Park until 4 p.m. with craft stands, food vendors, entertainment and children’s activities. Fireworks at dusk over Mineola Bay. Rain date Sunday. HUNTLEY

ISLAND LAKE

FOURTH OF JULY PARADE & PICNIC, 10 a.m., Burnett Road from Darrell Road to River Road. Free picnic follows 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Veterans Park. Free hot dogs and games for children. Sponsors: American Legion Post 911 and village of Island Lake.


LAKE GENEVA, WIS.


INDEPENDENCE DAY CELEBRATION, Friday, Grand Geneva Resort & Spa, Highways 12 and 50, Lake Geneva, Wis. Family fun featuring a picnic from 1 to 9 p.m., carnival games, live music, food, Brown’s Lake Aquaducks Waterski Show 7 to 8:45 p.m., fireworks at dusk. McHENRY
