McHenry library changes borrowing rulesMcHENRY – Starting today, McHenry Public Library will buy extra copies of popular and newly released movies so more patrons can enjoy them, but these titles will only have a three-day borrowing period. These movies will be categorized as “hot” DVDs, and patrons will be limited to checking out two at a time. They can’t be reserved or renewed. “This is so they get back on the shelves faster for others to enjoy,” Assistant Director Bill Edminster said in a news release. Some of these DVDs will be shared through inter-library loan, so patrons can have access to titles at other area libraries. The library also is limiting TV series and feature film DVD checkouts to seven at a time. Music CD checkouts will be limited to 10 at a time for one week. For information, call the library at 815-385-0036 or visit www.mchenrylibrary.org. – Diana Sroka |
