‘Tip a Cop’ event set for Saturday at Culver’s

HUNTLEY – Members of the Huntley Police Department will trade their uniforms for aprons Saturday as they serve as waiters in support of the Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics Illinois.

The “Tip a Cop” event will take place from 10:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Culver’s of Huntley, 13240 Route 47. This is the sixth year that the restaurant has hosted the event, which raises money and awareness for Special Olympics through donations.

Special Olympic athletes also will serve customers alongside police officers. Torch Run merchandise, such as hats, T-shirts and pins, will be sold, as well.

Special Olympics Illinois is a nonprofit organization providing year-round sports training and competition across the state to nearly 22,000 children and adults with intellectual disabilities.

For information, call Huntley Police Sgt. Amy Williams at 847-515-5311.
