Cops probe graffiti at industrial park
CRYSTAL LAKE – Crystal Lake police are investigating graffiti in an industrial park off Teckler Boulevard.
“At this point, we have eight buildings that were victims of criminal defacement,” Deputy Chief Dennis Harris said. “Most of these buildings that were hit were unoccupied or in the process of folks moving out of them.”
The graffiti, mostly the same word spray-painted on each building, was discovered in the early morning hours. There also appeared to be a rough outline of a person who is holding a spray paint can.
“I believe this is something we have seen in the past,” Harris said.
Investigators will be looking at previous reports to compare the language style.
Police are working with the buildings’ owners to narrow down a timeline of when the incident happened. There likely were no cameras in the area, Harris said.
No damage estimate was available, but there was no physical or structural damage to any of the buildings, Harris said.
