JOHNSBURG – A fire hydrant opened by vandals early Sunday morning has resulted in a boil order for about 250 Johnsburg homes that could last until Wednesday.
Homes in the Claremont Hills, Remington Grove and Running Brook Farm subdivisions as well as the businesses along Route 31 from Johnsburg Road south to Diamond Drive/Commerce Drive all are under the boil order, said Bill Swartzloff, Johnsburg’s facilities and grounds supervisor.
Swartzloff said the hydrant caused low pressure, which resulted in the boil order. He said the boil order could last until Wednesday, when results of water quality tests are expected.
