Book event helps pantry
WONDER LAKE – Local author Sandra Landen Machaj will sign copies of her latest book about the McHenry County area from 1 to 4 p.m. today at Wonder Lake Bible Church.
Machaj’s book, “Northeast McHenry County,” tells the story of Wonder Lake, Ringwood, Richmond and Spring Grove’s history through more than 200 photographs.
Pages of photographs are meant to give readers a taste of these towns’ early days, as many of the photos were provided by descendants of the early settlers.
Books will be available to buy at the signing, and a portion of book-sale proceeds will benefit the Wonder Lake Neighbors Food Pantry.
The church is at 7511 Howe Road, Wonder Lake.
