Early morning Island Lake fire under investigation

ISLAND LAKE – Police are investigating the cause of an early morning fire at an Island Lake home.

Fire crews were called to 4718 Wildwood Drive about 4:40 a.m. today, according to a news release from the McHenry County Sheriff's Office.

When emergency officials arrived, smoke was coming out of different areas of the house. The fire was doused by 5:30 a.m., according to police.

The residents of the home were evacuated and uninjured.

Sheriff's Police were assisted by emergency personnel from Wauconda, Lake Zurich, Fox Lake and Cary.

The cause of the fire is under investigation by the Sheriff's Office Fire Investigation Unit.
