BURLINGTON – Two minutes into Tuesday’s IHSA Class 2A Burlington Central Regional semifinal boys soccer match, Johnsburg looked finished.

The 10th-seeded Skyhawks allowed a goal to seventh-seeded Burlington, but a Reid Bright goal on a Mike Dombrowski assist tied it, and Dombrowski scored to give Johnsburg a 2-1 halftime lead.

“We showed maturity and turned it around,” Johnsburg coach Rob Eastland said.

Johnsburg added two more goals in the second half for a win, 4-1.

The Skyhawks advance to the regional final against Marmion on Saturday.

Class 2A Lakes Regional: At Lake Villa, the 11th-seeded Knights defeated the sixth-seeded Wolves (12-7-3), 3-0. Cole Geissel made two saves for Prairie Ridge.

Class 1A Westminster Christian Regional: At Elgin, second-seeded Westminster Christian defeated top-seeded Harvard, 3-2, in the regional final. Ivan Pichardo and Alberto Martinez scored for Harvard (17-4-2).

GIRLS VOLLEYBALL

McHenry 2, Jacobs 0: At McHenry, the Warriors (21-11 overall, 5-4 Fox Valley Conference Valley Division) took a 25-22, 25-18 FVC Valley victory against the Golden Eagles (20-12, 2-7), led by Katie Niehoff’s 17 assists and Sam Magnussen’s eight kills.

Alden-Hebron 3, Union Grove (Wis.) 2: At Union Grove, Lacy Beck totaled 20 kills and Madelyn Walters had nine digs and 13 blocks to lead the Giants (4-12) to a 25-19, 25-17, 20-25, 21-25, 18-16 non-conference win.

Prairie Ridge 2, Johnsburg 0: At Johnsburg, Kelly Sullivan had 11 kills and 11 digs to lead the Wolves (25-9, 10-1) to a 25-18, 25-20 FVC Fox win against the Skyhawks (16-13, 7-4).

Dundee-Crown 2, Huntley 0: At Huntley, Jania Johnson had 19 assists and Ashley Smith had six kills, but the Red Raiders (24-10 overall, 4-5 FVC Valley) fell 25-8, 25-9 in a Fox Valley Conference Valley Division matchup against the Chargers (8-20, 1-8).

CL Central 2, Woodstock North 0: At Crystal Lake, the Tigers (31-3, 10-1) defeated the Thunder (4-27, 0-11) 25-16, 25-10 in an FVC Fox match. Tracy Friel had six aces for Central, and Lindsay Anderson added four kills.

Marengo 2, North Boone 0: At Poplar Grove, Allison Rogutich had 10 kills and Morgan Bartlett had seven digs to lead the Indians (7-23, 1-9) to a 25-19, 25-19 Big Northern Conference East Division win.

Richmond-Burton 2, Harvard 1: At Richmond, Tracy Holian had 25 assists, and Caitlin Richert had 13 digs for the Rockets (15-14, l, 4-5) in a BNC East match against the Hornets (17-12, 5-5).

GIRLS SWIMMING

Cary-Grove 115, Larkin 50: At Elgin, Courtney Mega, Brianna Musielak, Lauren Curtis, Molly English combined to win two relays, the 200 medley in 2:07.96 and the 200 freestyle in 1:55.83, as the Trojans defeated the Royals.

BOYS CROSS COUNTRY

Prospect Invitational: At Mount Prospect, Andrew Hubbard finished in 16:52 for Crystal Lake South, as the Tigers finished in fourth place. Maine West won the event.
