Woman airlifted after crash

WOODSTOCK – A woman airlifted after a two-vehicle crash Wednesday morning has been identified as 60-year-old Jennifer Freeman of Woodstock.

The crash happened about 7:20 a.m. at the intersection of Route 14 and Dean Street, said Sgt. Dan Wesolek of the Woodstock Police Department.

Freeman had been on Dean Street making a left turn east onto Route 14 when she pulled out in front of a Ford Econoline van, Wesolek said. She was flown to Advocate Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge, where she was listed in serious condition.

The driver of the van, 26-year-old Timothy Bluhm of Harvard, was treated and released from the scene, Woodstock Fire Division Chief Doug Erb said.

Both drivers were wearing their seat belts. It took about 10 minutes to extricate Freeman from the car, Erb said.

Freeman was charged with failure to use due care.
