HARVARD – An Algonquin teen is facing a handful of felony charges for allegedly spitting on personnel who responded to an apparent car accident Thursday.

A sheriff’s deputy found Frank A. Lintzeris, 17, of 1 Lake Drive Court, passed out in his vehicle about 3:14 a.m. Thursday at Busse and Dunham roads outside Harvard. The deputy broke the rear passenger window after Lintzeris refused to open his door, Captain Tony Cundiff said.

“The driver woke up and gave the deputy the finger,” Cundiff said. “And then he passed back out, so we used force to gain entry.”

Lintzeris had no apparent injuries, but emergency personnel took him to Centegra Hospital – Woodstock.

While inside the ambulance, Lintzeris became combative, got a bloody nose, and spit blood on a number of first-responders and the deputy, Cundiff said.

At the hospital, he also spit blood on hospital medical staff, Cundiff said.

Lintzeris was charged with seven counts of aggravated battery and a single count each of drunken driving, resisting a peace officer, operating an uninsured motor vehicle, failure to reduce speed, improper lane use and no seat belt.

Lintzeris is free from custody after posting 10 percent of his $51,000 bail.

He is next due in court Thursday.

If convicted of the most serious charge, Lintzeris could be sentenced to between three and seven years in prison.
