
NISRA fashion show set this monthBy NORTHWEST HERALDCRYSTAL LAKE – Special Olympics training, wheelchair-accessible buses and day camp scholarships are among the items that will benefit from a successful NISRA Foundation Holiday Fashion Show and Christmas Tree Raffle. The event, the foundation’s 14th annual, is scheduled for Nov. 21 at the Crystal Lake Holiday Inn, at the intersection of Route 31 and Three Oaks Road. The Northern Illinois Special Recreation Association is a cooperative of 13 park districts and cities, and provides year-round recreation activities, including Special Olympics, for residents with disabilities. The holiday fashion show and raffle will take place with doors opening at 10 a.m. and luncheon starting at noon Nov. 21, according to a news release. The event features lunch, fashion show, silent auction and opportunities to win a fully decorated tree and other items. Tickets are $40 each, or $50 for premier seats closer to the runway. Each of the trees included in the raffle is worth about $2,000 through the support of numerous area business sponsors. Event sponsors include Affinia Group, Baxter Healthcare, Sage Products, Alliance Contractors Inc., Harris Bank, Home State Bank, Aptargroup, Century 21 Roberts & Andrews, Wealth Preservers, Tree Classics, Gipper Formal Wear, and Old World Gem & Jewelry.
