HAMPSHIRE – The Burlington-Hampshire Area Food Pantry is in need of donations as the holiday season approaches.

In the past two months, the pantry’s shelves have been nearly bare. The pantry has been providing food items for 10 percent more families than during the summer.

The Burlington-Hampshire Area Food Pantry is a nonprofit, charitable organization providing relief to those in need. Help is available to anyone within the community who is in need of food assistance, without regard to age, race, gender, creed or health.

Donations of food items will be accepted at any local church, the Hampshire Library, the Hampshire Chamber of Commerce office and the Burlington post office.

Frequently needed items include all types of canned goods, especially soups and complete meals; boxed items such as macaroni and cheese, crackers and cereals; and peanut butter and jelly.

For information about donating, call 847-683-2598.
