• Chad Miller is commander of the Woodstock Infantry Association, which is leading efforts to raise money to restore the Civil War Memorial statue in the Woodstock Square. Miller is a past commander of the Woodstock-based Army National Guard unit, which is not involved in any fundraising efforts. A story and photo captions about the statue’s rededication on page 1 of Wednesday’s Local & Region section incorrectly stated the National Guard was involved in the fundraising.
The Northwest Herald regrets the errors.
• Stories about an alleged armed robbery on Page 1 of Wednesday’s Local & Region section and Page 3 of an Oct. 29 story incorrectly reported that the incident occurred in Lake in the Hills, because of incorrect information provided by the McHenry County Sheriff’s Department. The incident took place in Algonquin.
• In stories during the past week about the discovery of corpses in the home of a sex offender, The Associated Press, relying on information from the Cleveland police department, erroneously reported the criminal background of Anthony Sowell. He was convicted of attempted rape, not rape, according to the Ohio prison system and Cuyahoga County Common Pleas Court documents.
