MARENGO – Veterans and their families will join about 2,000 students from Marengo-area schools to celebrate Veterans Day on Nov. 11.

Marengo Community High School’s second annual Veterans Day Assembly will begin at 9 a.m. in the school gymnasium, 110 Franks Road, Marengo.

U.S. Rep. Don Manzullo, a Republican from Egan, will share the importance of celebrating Veterans Day as keynote speaker.

More than 400 invitations were sent throughout the nation to veterans with local connections. Students from five Marengo-area schools will participate in the assembly.

The public is invited to attend. A reception will follow the assembly for all veterans and their families.
