Animal Planet host in McHenry Saturday

Joel Silverman, The host of Animal Planet's "Good Dog U" and his furry companion, Foster, will lead a seminar Saturday at Camp Bow Wow in McHenry. 

The special appearance is part of the Furry Fiesta Days Luau being hosted by the pet boarding and care center, 3107 Route 120.

The seminar kicks off at 10 a.m., and Silverman will give a one hour presentation on the philosophy behind his successful career as an animal trainer. He'll be on hand to answer questions and sign copies of his book. After the show there will be plenty of fun activities for the dogs including Bobbing for Hotdogs, the Bow Wow Bathing Suit Contest (for dogs), Swimming Pool Pooch Pics for a $5 donation, and Dogs 'n Suds Bath and Brush for a $15 donation. 

All donations and $1 of every book sold at the Camp will benefit the Bow Wow Buddies Foundation, Camp Bow Wow's non-profit organization for bettering the lives of furry friends.
