Sox top Cubs in decade

Chicago baseball fans will have six months to pore over what went wrong in 2009.

For now, a simple look at the standings will say enough.

Appropriately, the Cubs and White Sox each went home with a loss Sunday in the final game of their regular season. Neither team met expectations this year, and players from both teams will be watching the the baseball playoffs on TV this October just like their fans.

Here is a look at each team's final record, and how it stacks up to previous seasons this decade.

So who claims the bragging rights for 2000-2009? Clearly, a World Series title gives Sox fans reasons to crow. In addition, the Sox went 857-764 (.529 winning percentage) this decade, while the Cubs went 807-812 (.498 winning percentage).
