Update: The winner of our poll: Question 1: To get spending under control, what would be the first thing you would cut? Check back later in July for what local and state officials have to say.
The 2018 general election in November is an important one in Illinois, and we want to hear from you to help shape the conversation.
We asked Northwest Herald readers to send in their thoughts on what policy issues they cared about most for the upcoming election. We had some great feedback from our readers and based on your thoughts, we've narrowed things down to five main topics: Property taxes, spending, townships, education funding, and social security.
Now, it's up to you what we talk about first. We'll let this poll run through July 4. And then take the winning question to local and state officials, candidates and influencers to get their reactions and solutions to McHenry County and Illinois issues. We aim to get your answers to several monthly questions leading up to the election, but we'll start with whatever question gets the most votes.
So please, through July 4, vote on the policy issue that matters most to you.
