2015 Everyday Heroes Nominations are now open!

New this year! Nominate a hero committed to the youth of McHenry County.

Chosen heroes will be honored at an awards breakfast event in March. Details to follow! A special print and online section will feature these heroes, February 28, 2015.

Everyday Heroes are the people who make McHenry County a great place to work and live. They make a difference through actions rather than words. Early next year, the Northwest Herald will honor McHenry County's Everyday Heroes who are making a difference in the lives of youth. Whether a teacher, coach, scout leader, mentor, health professional, volunteer or one of the many other possibilities, this is your chance to nominate those that give tirelessly and selflessly. Everyday Heroes avoid the spotlight, but deserve our appreciation. We know they are all around us, doing what they can to make youths' lives they touch better. Our community's difference-makers will be recognized in McHenry County's Everyday Heroes Commitment to Youth edition which will be published in print and online on February 28, 2015.

We welcome nominations through December 21, 2014. To qualify, the nominee must either live or work in McHenry County. Nominees may be of any age. Tell us in 250 words or less what makes someone you know an Everyday Hero. Please be specific. Examples are helpful in the nomination review process. Enter the information below.
