Heroin in McHenry County: A Northwest Herald project

In recent years, an epidemic has swept McHenry County. The growing presence of heroin in Chicago suburban communities and subsequent awareness and prevention efforts by local government and nonprofit organizations has led to a public conversation about the drug and its impact.
