UNION – “Brilliance: A New Exhibit Honoring the Lives of Women on the North Shore Line” will open Saturday at the Illinois Railway Museum.

UNION – The McHenry County Historical Society will host the museum’s grand opening Sunday with the “Return to Woodstock, An All-American City” exhibit.

UNION –  In “Early Trails of McHenry County,” the last in the McHenry County Historical Society’s Sampler lecture series, Crystal Lake resident Ders Anderson will talk about a variety of early trails and roads, and about how Native Americans divined the most efficient ways of crossing wilderness.

UNION – The Illinois Railway Museum has started plans to build a 5-acre renewable solar farm that would dramatically reduce the museum’s electrical costs and completely power its demonstration railroad through sunlight.
