The story “Schools improve, not enough,” that ran on the front page on Friday misquoted McHenry District 15 Assistant Superintendent for Learning Services John Lehnen. Lehnen said five of the district’s eight schools met adequate yearly progress.
A photograph on page 1 of Sunday’s Northwest Herald Sports section from the boys soccer regional final between Crystal Lake South and McHenry included an incorrect caption. The photo showed Crystal Lake South’s Carey Bienert (No. 19) winning a header against McHenry’s Holden Senn-Raemont (No. 6).
A story that ran on page 6A Saturday, “Care package items needed,” requires clarification. The boy fell under the bus somewhere in front of its rear wheels.
The opponent for Richmond-Burton’s football team that appeared in a story and scoreline in Saturday’s Prep Extra section was incorrect. R-B defeated North Boone, 47-14.
• In the article “Students steer toward safety,” which ran Friday on the front page of the Local&Region section, Clara Johnson, a senior Jacobs High School student, was misidentified.
On page 3B of Friday’s Northwest Herald, a story about Michael Falco, 26, of Downers Grove being charged with leaving the scene of a personal injury accident contained an error. The accident happened at 11:53 a.m. Oct. 10.
• The Merchant Marines attained veteran status in 1988, not 1998 as was incorrectly reported in a letter to the editor in Wednesday’s Northwest Herald. The error was due to a typesetting mistake by the Northwest Herald and was not the letter writer’s error.
