Beany came from a shelter in Southern Illinois.  It turned out that he was heartworm positive. That meant he had to stay with us and go through the long and painful treatment to get rid of the heartworms.  That is why it is so important to test for heartworm and give monthly preventative all year long.  He completed his treatment and is heartworm free.  He is very  shy and will need someone very kind and patient so he learns to trust.  He likes other dogs so he might like having a buddy.  Is you heart big enough to let him in so he will know what it's like to have a home and love?

Go to www.helpingpaws.net for more information or call us at 815-338-4400.  You can meet him at Helping Paws Animal Shelter located at 2500 Harding Lane, Woodstock, Illinois.
