Graduation parties, holiday cookouts or outdoor festivals – summer is a prime time to step out in the perfect dress!
Enjoy your most stylish summer yet with these fashion tips from The Clothes Gallery in downtown Crystal Lake.
“Personality tends to dictate their choices in pattern and style. Once a customer enters my store, they tend to gravitate towards certain items. We take our cues from the customer, but also try to show them what is trending in the world of fashion!” said Sherree Rothstein, owner of The Clothes Gallery.
Choose a dress that can be styled up or down to make it a great option for both in and out of the office, day or night.
Print dresses are all the rage this season. From floral prints to bold artistic patterns, there is a huge variety to choose from in fit and style to match your personality.
Stay cool and comfortable in the warmer months by selecting the right dress material.
“Cotton is always a great spring/summer fabric, but it can get easily wrinkled. My suggestion is a cotton/polyester blend that helps cut down on wrinkles and the need to iron,” Rothstein said. “Linen is great for a casual dress. It does wrinkle, but that is part of the look of the fabric and is usually thought of as part of the style of the garment.”
Length can make a big difference!
A dress that hits right above the knees is universally a good length, but if you’d prefer your knees covered, maxi length works well on everyone as long as the proportions of the dress is proportionate to the woman.
“Sneaker dresses are great for any summer occasion and are usually made of light weight fabrics that flow well,” Rothstein said.
