On September 27th, the Williams Street Repertory's production of The Addams Family opened to a large crowd at Raue Center in Crystal Lake. "Patrons have been raving," said Miriam Naponelli, Marketing Director for Raue Center. "The excitement on opening night was palpable. The audience snapped along with the theme song and gave the entire company a much-deserved standing ovation!"

Over 600 people came out opening weekend; with Saturday and Sunday matinee options and $6 student tickets, this fantastic production is something the whole family can enjoy. "This is a show you HAVE to see," said Terry J. Another patron, Robin C., said, "The Addams Family was absolutely amazing tonight! I smiled and laughed throughout the entire show. I literally couldn't wait for intermission because my cheeks were hurting. I highly recommend this musical."

The show features some amazing highlights created by choreographer Kristine Burdi-Stickney. "In the song The Moon and Me, Uncle Fester climbs stairs as the staircase is slowly spinning, and it's such a beautiful moment," explained Director Kevin Wiczer. "Another highlight is the tango scene. I know how challenging it was for the actors to learn the incredibly difficult lifts and moves, and they all mastered them. I'm constantly impressed by Morticia (Amanda Flahive), Gomez (William Marquez), and the Ancestors who tango beautifully and with such precision. I'm so proud of them!"

Wiczer added that there's a lot we all can learn from the Addams Family. "They are unapologetically themselves," he said. "They are loyal to each other and love each other unconditionally. This is exactly what we need in our lives right now. Audiences will laugh and be impressed by the incredible vocals and choreography, and will see an enormous amount of heart within all the actors' performances."

Come join the Addams clan for the afternoon or evening! The show runs weekends through October 20th. For tickets, call 815-356-9212 or visit www.rauecenter.org.
