To the Editor:
I’ve known Lou Bianchi longer than just about anyone. I knew him long before he became a state’s attorney. In 2004, he ran for elected office for the first time. He promised much-needed change, and to know Lou is to know that he never does anything by half measures. He has revitalized the office, and simply put, it is one of the finest offices in the state.
Under his watch, deal-making and influence peddling came to an abrupt halt. It was long overdue. Those who didn’t like those changes responded by scrutinizing every detail and operation of his office. Using legal and illegal tactics, they pursued anything that they could “spin doctor” into a scandal.
I know Lou to be a dedicated, compassionate and professional leader. He has always been the kind of person who people turn to for help. Whether the distress is physical, emotional or financial, he is there. While he doesn’t speak about it, I’m sure that there are people reading this who know exactly what I’m talking about. His focus remains on doing the best job he can. I know him well. I’m his sister.
