CRYSTAL LAKE – Court Appointed Special Advocates of McHenry County will host the sixth annual CASA Cup: A Night at the Races fundraiser Oct. 17 at Turnberry Country Club in Lakewood.
Proceeds generated from the event will aid CASA in its mission to provide a trained, committed advocate to every abused and neglected child in the McHenry County juvenile abuse court system.
The county’s only broomstick horse race takes place at the CASA Cup each year. Guests and businesses are invited to become the owners of a broomstick horse, earning them the opportunity to name and decorate it.
Jockeys are welcome to dress the part, but there is no need to wear running shoes, as each jockey and horse will advance with the roll of the dice. The cost to buy a horse is $250 and includes admission to the event, which also features live music, games, raffles and silent and live auctions.
Tickets are now on sale at donatenow.networkforgood.org/casacup2015.
Admission is $75 a person in advance, $85 at the door or $250 for those who buy a broomstick horse. For information, visit www.casamchenrycounty.org.
