Letter: Tirio strikes a nerve

To the Editor:

You can tell Joe Tirio, who’s running for recorder of deeds, really has struck a nerve with the bureaucracy by the intensity of the attacks on him.

Tirio, an experienced corporate manager, examined the recorder’s office and determined the whole operation could be folded into the clerk’s office, eliminating his position should he win, increasing efficiency and saving taxpayers money.

What politician does that?

One opponent, Joni Smith, a minor bureaucrat in the office, sure doesn’t want the position cut. She wants that cushy job where her daughter will report to her. His other opponent, Tina Hill, sure doesn’t want the position cut. She’s a lifelong politician looking for a position she can retire in.

Neither of them has offered any plan to save the taxpayers money.

If we want to cut taxes, we have to take back every office in McHenry County. Vote for Tirio for recorder.
