To the Editor:
It’s good to see an increasing number of candidates for political office with two key characteristics.
One, they clearly understand that the total tax burden (federal, state, local) on the middle class has become brutal, oppressive and unsustainable. Endless tax increases (required by government waste, fraud, corruption and special interest group demands) are killing the middle class, not proposed laws to reform the way Illinois handles its finances.
Two, they aren’t afraid of offending overly sensitive special interest groups.
Those candidates, whom I support, include Tom Wilbeck (County Board District 1), Kelly Liebmann (County Board District 6), Dan McConchie (state senator District 26), Joe Tirio (county recorder) and John Bobrytzke (precinct committeeman, Algonquin 65).
America is a constitutional republic founded by radicals based on individual self-determination, not big government getting way too far into our lives. Those who seek any public office should keep that in mind.
