CRYSTAL LAKE – The Crystal Lake Police Department will host National Night Out, a nationwide event providing an opportunity for the community and local law enforcement to come together to promote neighborhood spirit and police-community partnerships on Tuesday, Aug. 2.
This year’s National Night Out event will take place at the Three Oaks Recreational Area, 5517 Northwest Highway, Crystal Lake.
The event will start at 5 p.m. and go to 8 p.m. Admission and parking is free after 4:30 p.m. Planned activities include: face painting, balloon twisting artist, police and fire/rescue vehicles on display, a police K-9 demonstration, inflatable monster truck, kids games, and free gift bags given away while supplies last.
Parents and caregivers can enjoy the first ever outdoor segment of Coffee with the Chief with a member of the Crystal Lake Police to speak on back to school safety. Residents are encouraged to RSVP to Officer Ed Pluviose for seating at Coffee with the Chief.
Advocate Good Shepherd Hospital will be providing free bicycle helmets and free bicycle helmet fittings.
Culvers of Crystal Lake will offer a complete hamburger, cheeseburger or hot dog meal with a french fry, a drink and a single scoop of vanilla or chocolate custard for $4.50.
