The Cary-Grove co-op boys swimming team won only one event Saturday but ran away with the team title at the Jefferson Invitational in Rockford.
Connor Dolezal, Nick Gerstbrein Cole Seeger and Kolin Fadden won the 400-yard freestyle relay with a time of 3:20.18 for the Trojans.
C-G finished with 231 points, McHenry took fourth with 157 points, and Woodstock North co-op (105) was seventh in the 13-team event.
Also for C-G, Omid Babakhani, Cameron Castro, Fadden and Dolezal were second in the 200 free relay (1:33.45), Noah Siegmeier was second in the 100 backstroke (58 seconds), Hunter Jackson was second in the 100 breaststroke (1:04.19), Dolezal was third in the 200 free (1:55.13), Peyton Richardson was third in the 200 IM (2:07.65) and the 100 butterfly (57.62), and Babakhani was third in the 100 free (51.52).
For McHenry, Riley Hedberg won the 200 free (1:50.33) and finished third in the 50 free (23.22). Jonah Smith placed second in the 100 free (51.48). Smith, Nathan Murrin, Tyler Hemphill and Hedberg were third in the 200 free relay (1:34.12), and Dylan Qualls was third in the 100 breaststroke (1:06.65).
Woodstock North co-op's Quinton Cynor won the 500 free (4:56.16) and was second in the 100 butterfly (53.75).
