To the Editor:
Who at Shaw Media decided that publishing the cartoon comparing our president to three of the most evil, monstrous, despots of the modern age was appropriate? Mao, Stalin and Hitler, if considered collectively, are responsible for the deaths of millions.
Many of those were murdered for opposing politics or just for being considered “dangerous” intellectuals. Can anyone with even the slightest knowledge of history, rationally compare those monsters to Donald Trump? And why would an “objective" news outlet foment such pathologic hysteria?
Could it be another instance of “fake news” that Trump insists is propagated by an increasingly biased liberal media?
Political correctness, in all its trans-mutations, as pandered to, and force fed to us by the main stream media has done much to break this country apart. The entitlement mentality along with the inclusion movement of what not long ago was considered perverse, depraved, and repugnant is now mandatorily acceptable.
Those whose beliefs differ from the liberal mindset are branded as fools, or worse. Any thought other than that of the leftist agenda is rejected outright. The media propagates this, and has decided that there is no room for those with opposing views.
They demonize contrary opinions and ridicule the president. Certainly, Trump is flawed and imperfect, as are all humans. He, at least, stands up for those of us who are sick of the left telling us we have no right to think for ourselves. The Aug. 11 cartoon is just another in a series of outrageous distortions that only helps to further divide us as a country.
