To the Editor:
A letter was published Saturday from a man who seemed a little upset with the president. He listed 12 reasons he thought justified impeachment. Most of that list is the reason Donald Trump was elected instead of Hillary Clinton.
After the liberal agenda of Barack Obama, there are many of us “deplorables” who wanted a major change in direction, not more of the same: too much government regulation, liberal judges such as the ones appointed under Obama, high taxes stifling the economy, Environmental Protection Agency regulations that went too far, etc.
Although I agree with Mr. Janz about separation of illegal immigrant families and the tariff war, I support the agenda of this administration to roll back much of the liberal policies of the past eight years. Having said that, I do not like Trump and hope he will not run for another term, which is probably wishful thinking.
After getting us started in the right direction, he should step aside and allow the nomination of a candidate who would continue on that road in a manner that was not so abrasive and with a likable personality. Mr. Janz is like so many liberals who think they speak for everyone.
There are more of us than he realizes who feel conservative policies have served our nation well and do not wish to move toward socialism, which is where the Democrats appear to be headed. We weren’t as vocal about our dislike of the Obama agenda as liberals are of their feelings about Trump. I believe in using the ballot to effect change, not the bullhorn.
