A proposal to open a drive-thru Beef Shack restaurant in Huntley was recommended without opposition to the Village Board during Monday’s Plan Commission meeting.
Pending final approval from the board, Beef Shack owner Spiro Douvris said he expects the restaurant to open before the holidays, and that it would generate about $25,000 a week.
“We’re excited to come, and I think we’ll do well here,” Douvris said.
In addition to the restaurants in Huntley, St. Charles, DeKalb and Elgin, Douvris said he plans to open a new location in Joliet in a couple of weeks, as well as a new location in Bartlett in the spring.
Hours of operation would be from
11 a.m. to 9 p.m. daily.
Douvris said because of the limited menu, drive-thru services will be extremely quick.
Additional proposals recommended Monday for board approval included a 46,800-square-foot addition to Thermoform Engineered Quality’s office and warehouse at 11320 Main St., and an expansion of General RV’s facilities onto the former Huntley Outlet Center property.
A hearing on a proposal for an estimated 11-acre property east of Route 47, north of Powers Road and south of Regency Parkway was continued to the Plan Commission’s Oct. 22 meeting because the petitioner was not in attendance.
Action will be taken on all three recommended proposals during Thursday’s Village Board meeting at 7 p.m. at Village Hall, 10987 Main St.
