Deceit by Trump, Hultgren should not be tolerated
To the Editor:
“I will not lie, cheat or steal, nor tolerate those who do” is the basic honor code for all commissioned military service members.
Our current commander-in-chief dodged the opportunity to learn this in the Vietnam era. Instead he followed his father into a real estate career that includes six bankruptcy fillings, a fraudulent university, and a tv portrayal of a successful executive.
The Trump presidency began with a lie about the size of his inauguration crowd, and the lies continue, averaging about eight per day, according to the Washington Post.
Even if this is only half correct, that’s too many. His tolerance for Republican congressmen who cheat by insider trading and steal campaign funds is simply not honorable.
We have the opportunity in November to not tolerate congressman Hultgren who continues to lie on his web site declaring “the quality of health care in the United States is second to none.”
The USA Today just reported the United States is the most dangerous developed nation for a mother to have a baby. Hultgren also lied at one of his few town hall meetings when he said he would support pre-existing medical conditions and then voted against them.
Just as the fabled boy who cried wolf, when is Congressman Hultgren telling the truth about health care or any issue for that matter? A voter wonders. Our democracy must have truth about our issues in order to solve them.
I’m not going to tolerate lies from our president, nor am I going to tolerate lies from someone who supports the president 96 percent of the time. How about you?
