To the Editor:
The #Me Too year of the woman. McHenry County has three candidates running for state and federal offices. Laura Underwood, candidate for U.S. Congress versus Randy Hultgren. Her main issue is national health care. but what about the economy?
The National Tax Cuts and Jobs Act has shown the lowest unemployment rate in 40 years, 3.9 percent with African and Latino at all-time lows. Two hundred thousand new jobs this quarter alone; a new alliance with Canada and Mexico, the new NAFTA; the release of American hostages without trading millions of dollars ransom in the dark of night; the GNP in the second quarter alone risen 1.2 billion USD; immigration and the boarder wall.
We need answers. The Northwest Herald Opinion Page on Oct. 17, in part, said Underwood had a promising message on 'an' issue. (One) "We believe Hultgren best represents the district."
We have Mary Mahady for State Senate, "Women can't sit on the sidelines." Another Democrat to cow tow/beholden with Madigan's policies in the ruining of Illinois. Then there's Nancy Zettler, another women's rights proponent, "The government needs women in leadership."
What else do these ladies have to offer? Last, but not least, J.B. Pritzker for Governor, tax dodger. Admits to removing toilets from a home for real estate tax reduction and agrees to pay $350,000 to cover. And, horror or all horrors, hired nonunion workers on his residences.
