Letters to the Editor

Letter: Merry Christmas

To the Editor:

Nov. 6 was the election where the Democrats won back the House and Republicans keep the Senate. So it's back to checks and balances, we hope.

Even Nancy Pelosi surprised me with her response, and President Trump thinking she deserved the speaker role again surprised me. But it's vital both work together for the good of the country and bringing it together.

Congress and politics itself have divided the country and the election of Donald Trump but we must come together.

What the president needs to do is calm it with the press. We know there is bias in the media, he has proven that, but it's time to put the enemy of the people where it belongs and that is hate itself.

And Jim Acosta and the others must do the same. I pray this holiday season brings out the best of us all and to those who won elections to be responsible and worthy of your power. That it is the interest of the American people you serve not yours.

For it is in the Christmas spirit when you serve to bring hope to the people it returns to you. That's how you get your rewards.

In the spirit of peace and goodwill among men and women may it begin with each of us. Not as left or right but as Americans. For those who believe in this spirit knows it's the Spirit in which we live. Without it we're a ship without a sail.

May God bestow us with His awesome Spirit, fill it in the hopes of us all, our president, our leaders old and new, our communities, our nation. Our young and our old. May it be through the new year.

For God thought we were worthy. He proved it by sending His Son. Not to believe in religion, but believe in hope in which He gives.

May His peace be with you this Christmas and beyond. Merry Christmas.
