Ed Rich and Chris Gisseler of Amazon Web Services recently assisted with Hour of Code activities during STEM classes at Woods Creek Elementary School in Crystal Lake.

About 300 third-, fourth- and fifth-graders received firsthand experience with computer coding and learned a bit about tech careers from the Amazon employees.

The Hour of Code takes place each year during Computer Science Education Week and is a worldwide movement to expose students to computer science and computer programming through one-hour activity modules.
