To the Editor:
On behalf of the board of directors of the Grafton Food Pantry, we would like to extend our deepest gratitude to those members of the community who “adopted” a client family for the holidays and donated gifts to make the holidays memorable. In total, 195 families enjoyed this special season as the result of this generosity. Our “Holiday Without Hunger” campaign was the most successful in our history, with funds donated by churches, organizations and individuals who enabled us to provide more than 300 turkey dinners for Thanksgiving and Christmas.
We are so appreciative of our volunteers who work tirelessly throughout the entire year to keep our organization running smoothly and help us to provide our services to our friends and neighbors in need of assistance. Thank you to Pub 47 Huntley for sponsoring the third annual Stuff the Bus that highlighted our holiday season. Mike Ritter, Advantage Movers in Algonquin and the Huntley Blue Organization participated in helping to organize this event. A special thanks to everyone who contributed and filled the bus!
Kudos to the businesses that donate on an ongoing basis: Costco, Walmart, Aldi, Meijer, Morkes Chocolates and Trader Joe’s.
