To the Editor:
With the ice and snow season, we have to be careful about falls – especially us old folks. When there is 4 or more inches of snow on the ground, you will rarely fall. But when there are 3 or fewer is when it’s dangerous.
I have a driveway with about an 8-degree incline, and I take a snow shovel with a sturdy handle and lean into it as if I want to put downward pressure on the blade. That way, my feet won’t slide out from under me. There have been times where I slid all the way down my driveway in a three-point stance and didn’t fall.
