Letter: Trump and the wall

To the Editor:

Now U.S. Rep. Sean Casten and others are saying that President Donald Trump is demanding $5.7 billion for the wall that would protect our country of illegal drugs and criminals. Those who want to come into our nation are the ones who are doing the demanding by coming in a caravan and sneaking in over the border illegally, and they want our benefits that we have worked our whole lives for. They want everything handed to them on a silver platter.

Yes, we are a nation of immigrants, but our forefathers and veterans would turn in their graves if they knew what is happening. Those immigrants who came here did not demand benefits, and they worked hard for what they earned to make a better life for themselves and future generations.

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi is saying a wall is immoral, but what is immoral is Planned Parenthood and all the millions of babies who have been aborted, as well as those who have benefited financially by that immoral crime.

She is the one who is demanding her own way and held up the pay for the government workers, as she has a vendetta against Trump and won’t budge an inch in negotiations to settle this dilemma. Contact your congressmen to have Pelosi start negotiating a very necessary border wall.

We give so much money in foreign aid to other countries – much, much more than $5.7 billion, with which we would be able to build the wall. The real reason for not wanting a wall has to do with wanting people here for their votes for a specific political party.

Not wanting to admit that Trump has been doing a fantastic job, Pelosi is just angry that the Democratic Party didn’t win the last presidential election, and she is trying to do anything and everything to keep from losing the next election.

Trump is not perfect, but neither are you or me – not even King David in the Bible and others are perfect, but, ultimately, may we have a country that is ruled by those in authority who have our country’s best interest at heart.
