Johnsburg junior Justin Peake earned a trip to the individual wrestling state tournament with a third-place finish Saturday at the Class 1A Byron Sectional.
Peake earned a 6-2 decision over Aurora Christian's Julian Jaimes in the third-place match at 182 pounds.
Peake was the only state qualifier for Johnsburg, which sent eight wrestlers to the Byron Sectional.
Class 2A Geneseo Sectional: At Geneseo, Marengo was unable to advance any of its four sectional qualifiers to next weekend's state meet.
Jefferson Sectional: At Rockford, Dundee-Crown's Mary Ehmann and Jacobs' Brianna Schmidt advanced to next weekend's state tournament.
Ehmann bowled a 1,299 series to finish fourth at the sectional, while Schmidt's 1,274 series was good for seventh. Harlem's Rebecca Hagerman was the individual champion with a 1,362 series.
D-C bowled a 5,094 to finish sixth as a team, and Jacobs (4,726) was 11th. The top four teams (Harlem, Sycamore, South Elgin and Freeport) advanced to state.
Richmond-Burton 56, Woodstock 37: At Woodstock, R-B senior Jeff Jankowski surpassed 1,000 points for his varsity career with a game-high 26 point as the Rockets (9-13, 4-4 Kishwaukee River Conference) picked up a KRC win over Woodstock (9-14, 3-4).
Crystal Lake Central 63, Huntley 56: At Crystal Lake, the Tigers outscored Huntley, 18-12, in the fourth quarter to secure a Fox Valley Conference win.
Alex Timmerman led Central (15-10, 9-4) with 25 points, C.J. Lerum provided 19 points, and Evan Cassell scored seven.
Uchenna Egekeze topped Huntley (13-14, 7-7) with 13 points. Davis Pasco added nine points, and Ryan Vrugt, Ryan Crosby and Luke DiFrancesca each scored eight points.
Cary-Grove 57, McHenry 40: At McHenry, Beau Frericks hit three 3-pointers on his way to a team-high 15 points for the Trojans (17-6, 9-4) in an FVC win.
Daniel Sowa added nine points, and Ryan Weaver had eight points.
McHenry's Brian March led all scorers with 16 points, and Jack Bauer provided six points for the Warriors (2-24, 2-12).
Jacobs 36, Prairie Ridge 34: At Algonquin, the Golden Eagles (11-14, 5-8) edged the Wolves (2-22, 1-13) for an FVC victory.
Woodstock North 59, Marengo 54: At Marengo, the Thunder picked up a KRC win behind 19 points from Ryan Schaffter.
Cole Brey added 12 points for North (14-10, 5-2), and Mathew Fallaw had 11 points.
Brock Bertrand led Marengo (11-11, 2-5) with 13 points, Matt Volkening scored 12, and Nick Wascher had 11 points.
Richmond-Burton 60, Harvard 32: At Richmond, Kayly Hogan scored a game-high 18 points to lead the Rockets to a KRC win.
Peyton Bannon provided R-B (12-14, 6-6) with 11 points, Madelyn Johnson scored eight, and Karey Miller had seven points.
Haily Hill paced the Hornets (2-22, 0-12) with 11 points.
